The 12th annual convocation of the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) was held on Thursday in which 48,881 students were conferred degrees and 149 medals were awarded to the students. A statement from the university said that 41 students were conferred PhD degrees.
State governor Acharya Devvrat, in-charge VC Pankaj Patel, Praful Pansheriya, the minister of state for primary, secondary, adult and higher education and Rushikesh Patel, the state education minister, were present. “Technology will play a major role in making India a $5 trillion economy. So, technology students and professionals have a great responsibility,” Panesheriya said, addressing the students.
Governor Devvrat said that he is sure that the newly minted grads will contribute to making India a global knowledge leader.
He congratulated the GTU administration for helping students and their families in every possible manner during the pandemic. Minister Rushikesh Patel congratulated the students and said that in the past 10 years, India has made good progress in the field of technology, and technical professionals from Gujarat have also contributed to the same.
