22 students with 3 faculty members of Silchar, Assam reached Chandigarh on Monday at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) under Yuva Sangam, an initiative of Ministry of Education, Government of India. NITTTR Chandigarh is the nodal centre for Chandigarh Region. They will stay in Chandigarh from 27th February, 2023 to 3rd March, 2023.
In the inauguration ceremony, Prof. S S Pattnaik, Director of NITTTR Chandigarh welcomed all students of Assam and appreciated the effort of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan to strengthen people-to-people connect and build empathy between youth of the North Eastern States and other States of our country. Prof. Maitreyee Dutta, EBSB Coordinator of NITTTR Chandigarh explained in detail about the activities NITTTR Chandigarh had planned for these students. On 27th February, 2023, after inauguration, one special lecture on importance of Millets was organized for the students from Silchar on account of International Millet year. The students were amazed with the food items prepared with millets.
