Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Vyas Jaganmohan Reddy, has taken notice of the situation where a group of Telugu students were sent back from the United States.

The incident involves around 21 Indian students who were looking forward to pursuing their higher education abroad, but faced complications with immigration upon their arrival in the US.

The Chief Minister, being concerned about this issue, has initiated inquiries into the matter. His concern is especially heightened as there were Telugu students among those affected by this incident in the US.

The intention is to address the problem promptly, and Chief Minister Reddy intends to bring this matter to the attention of the Ministry of External Affairs in the Indian Government. The aim is to find a resolution as swiftly as possible. It is important to note that all the students in question possess valid visas for their educational pursuits in the USA.

An official statement from the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), a state-government organisation, explained that Chief Minister Reddy is looking into this matter due to its significance. He not only wants to ensure the students’ careers from Andhra Pradesh remain unaffected but also seeks a resolution that aligns with their valid USA visas for higher studies. The students’ predicament of being unable to enter the US despite holding proper study visas is a concern that the Chief Minister aims to address.

In response to this situation, the Andhra Pradesh government has urged the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials to reconsider their decision and allow these students to enter the country.

Additionally, the state government has advised the students to be well-prepared for interactions with American officials. This includes being ready to answer any questions that may arise and carrying all necessary documentation related to finances and other pertinent matters.

Understanding the laws associated with non-immigrant visas is also crucial and the students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with details about the university and the courses they intend to undertake while embarking on their educational journeys abroad.
