The Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, is set to introduce the ‘Agriculture Consortium of Higher Education and Research Institutions’.
The launch event is scheduled for 25 and 26 September 2023, at the IIM Kashipur campus. Experts, academics and stakeholders from agriculture universities and research institutions from all corners of India will be present at the event.
The primary goal of the Agriculture Consortium is to foster Agri-entrepreneurship as a vital driver of India’s economic growth. It will place special emphasis on nurturing agriculture startups and exploring the role of higher education and research institutions in the development of South Asian economies. Over the course of two days, the event will feature panel discussions, expert talks and knowledge-sharing sessions.
By promoting agriculture within higher education institutions, the Agri Consortium aims to stimulate innovation and encourage collaboration among leading agri-entrepreneurs, researchers and educational establishments. This year marks a significant milestone in the journey towards sustainable agriculture entrepreneurship and leveraging the potential of agri-startups to fuel economic development in India and across South Asian nations.
Participants will include representatives from prominent Agriculture Universities and Research Institutions across India. Additionally, Agri-Business Incubation centres and knowledge partners involved in the RKVY RAFTAAR Scheme, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, will share their experiences and challenges in promoting Agri entrepreneurship.
