NLU Delhi Invites Applications for AILET 2024

  • AILET will be held for a duration of 2 hours unlike the previous norm of 1.5 hours for Batch 2024 of all programmes

National Law University Delhi has opened its applications for AILET 2024 for admission into its B.A.LLB. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the 2024-2025 admission cycle.

AILET – ALL India Law Entrance Test is conducted annually by NLU Delhi to admit students into its three aforementioned programmes. NLU Delhi has made changes in the exam pattern for LL.M. and PhD programmes (2024) and has introduced for the first time Ph.D. degrees in Social Sciences (2024). The pattern for B.A.LLB. (Hons.) remains unchanged. Moreover, the AILET will now be held for the duration of 2 hours for all programmes.

The highlights of modifications

1. Duration of the exam: AILET will be held for a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes) unlike the previous norm of 1.5 hours for Batch 2024 of all programmes i.e., B.A.LLB. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D.

2. Change in the exam pattern of LL.M. Programme: The entrance tests will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs with each question carrying 1 mark.  All the 100 MCQs will be from the different branches of Law.

3. Introducing Ph.D. Degree in Social Sciences: NLU Delhi has launched a PhD. Degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Economics and English for 2024.

4. Change in the exam pattern of PhD. Programme: The entrance test for PhD will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based only. The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs, with each question carrying 1 mark, 50 MCQs will be from the subject of Research Methodology. For PhD in Law, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of Law. For PhD in Social Sciences, the remaining 50 MCQs will be from different branches of Social Sciences.

Important dates:

The last date to fill the exam form will Sunday, 10 December 2023 between 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and last date to submit AILET 2024 applications will be Monday, November 13, 2023.

For Foreign Nationals and candidates in the OCI/PIO Category the last date for submission of the online application form is Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Interested candidates have to apply online on payment of the application fee of Rs.3500. Application fee in the case of SC,ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) is Rs.1500. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of the SC, ST category are exempted from the application fee.

AILET will be conducted in the cities including; Bengaluru, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Shimla, Siliguri, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
